Biographical / Historical
John Hoover Hash was born in Ferrum, Virginia and have obtained his B.S. degree from Roanoke College in 1949. He completed his MS in 1955 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and Ph.D from the same university in 1957. He came to Vanderbilt School of Medicine in 1964 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology becoming Professor of Microbiology in 1970 and Associate Dean for Biomedical Sciences in 1976.
