Biographical / Historical
Steven G. Gabbe was born in New Jersey and went to Princeton University to pursue his B.A. degree in 1961. He obtained his M.D. degree in 1969 from Cornell University Medical College and later in 1983 got his M.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He came to Vanderbilt University in 2001 as Dean and Professor of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and served in that role until 2008 when he left to become Chief Executive Officer of the Ohio State University Medical Center and Senior Vice President of Health Sciences at Ohio State University from School of Medicine.
