Biographical / Historical
Dee Canale is a neurosurgeon and early in his career he took interest in the history of surgery and medicine. He began collecting old medical books and became intrigued by the antiquated practice of bloodletting. During his visit to medical history museums in England and other european countries, he often came across bleeding bowls used by the barber surgeons (medical practioners) of the middle ages and got admired by the bleeding bowls. He started collecting them and owns 60 of them along with amny other items related to bloodletting used in the past.
