Biographical / Historical

Dr. Burritt was an 1890 graduate of the joint medical departments of Vanderbilt University and the University of Nashville. He did post graduate study at the Pulte Medical College in Cincinnati and at the New York Lying-in Hospital. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, he came from a a long line of physicians. At his death in 1955 Dr. Burritt willed his house and the surrounding property to the City of Huntsville for the purpose of establishing a park and museum.
