Historical or Biographical Note
Dr. Robert S. McCleery is a 1938 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine and surgical resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital (University of Miami) and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He served as professor and surgoen-in-chief at the Thayer Army Hospital in Nashville in the late 1940s. Thayer Hospital benefited greatly from the services of the Vanderbilt-trained surgical residents and consulting surgeons.
