Historical or Biographical Note
Alice Huffman Bugel, R.N., was an army nurse during World War II. A 1938 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Nursing, Bugel was assigned to the University of Virginia's 8th Evacuation Hospital unit during the war.
Bugel was a longtime member of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Auxiliary's Sewing circle. She retired as supervisor of the recovery rooms and surgical wards at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in 1960.
