Biographical file contains one letter, one newspaper clipping, and an obituary. Margaret Buchanan donated several scrapbooks to the 300th General Hospital Collection which is a part of the Medical Center Archives housed in the Eskind Library Archives.

Historical or Biographical Note
Margaret Buchanan, R.N., was a native of Dixon, TN and graduated from the St. Thomas Hospital Nursing School in Nashville. She volunteered to serve as a surgical nurse in Vanderbilt's 300th General Hospital Unit during WW II and was stationed in Naples, Italy throughout the war. After the War she worked as a nurse at the Thayer Veterans Hospital in Nashville. During her retirement she was very active in organizing reunions of the staff of the 300th General Hospital Unit and in preserving the history of this unit. She presented this collection to the Eskind Biomedical Library in 1994.
