Historical or Biographical Note
Nancy E. Laubenstein, R.N. (1884-1981) was Director of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing from 1921-1925. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in 1916. She served as a nurse in World War I with Base Hospital No. 20. Members of this unit were recruited almost entirely from the University of Pennsylvania.
