Historical or Biographical Note

Reginald Passmore (1910-1999) was a British nutritionist, physiologist and author. He was an expert on energy metabolism and he was the co-author of the text Human Nutrition and Dietetics. He served at the Usher Institute's Department of Public Health and Social Medicine from 1947-1952. Then he worked in the Department of Physiology at the University of Edinburgh from 1952 until his retirement. He also served on the Expert Advisory Panel on Nutrition for the WHO from 1951-1956.
