Historical or Biographical Note
Alvin L. Moxon (1909 - 2007) was a nutrition investigator and educator. He is best known for his research in selenium toxicity, nutritional significance of trace elements, carbohydrates in feeds, and ruminant nutrition. He received his Ph.D. from Wisconsin in 1941. He then became Chairman of the Department of Chemistry (1947-1951) and Associate Chairman of the Department of Animal Science (1951-1960) at the Ohio State University. He died in Coshocton, Ohio on May 21, 2007.
