Collection Scope and Content Summary
Personal papers of Vanderbilt alum and Professor Allan D. Bass, who was chair of the Department of Pharmacology for two decades. This collection includes correspondence, Department of Pharmacology related materials, personal memorabilia, and photographs. Correspondence primarily consists of time period 1955-1990. The collection also contains an assortment of undated newspaper clippings pertaining to Dr. Bass, a history of pharmacology at Vanderbilt from 1875-1975, articles from 1990-1996 related to pharmacology, and also class notes taken by Dr. Bass while at Vanderbilt Medical School. Photographs in this collection cover a wide time period. Pictures include personal photographs, school and conference photographs, and slides pertaining to VUMC history.
