Sarah Dawson Autograph Collection
Scope and Contents
The Sarah Dawson Autograph Collection, 1936-1950, consists of performance programs and restaurant menus with the autographs of singers, musicians, and other performers. Some programs have more than one autograph.
The folders are arranged alphabetically by the person's name. Corresponding newspaper clippings regarding individuals and/or performances are included.

Conditions Governing Access
This collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Special Collections in the Jean and Alexander Heard Library. Materials should be requested 2-3 days prior to visiting to facilitate easier access. Contact specialcollections@vanderbilt.edu to schedule an appointment.
Biographical / Historical
Sarah Claire Mims Dawson, 1922-2005, was born to R. F. Mims and Alberta Corbett (later Cunnyngham), 1898-1972, on 8 June 1922. She graduated from West End High School in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1940 and married James Thomas Dawson in 1943. Sarah Dawson was an active volunteer at various Nashville institutions. She passed away on 29 November 2005 and is buried in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville, TN.
