Biographical / Historical
Harry Howe Ransom, the cousin of author John Crowe Ransom, was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 14, 1922. He received his BA from Vanderbilt University in 1943 and his MA and PhD from Princeton University in 1949 and 1954. He taught political science at Princeton, Vassar College, Michigan State University, Harvard University, and Vanderbilt, where he taught from 1961 until his retirement in 1987. Ransom died in Nashville on January 28, 2014.
