This collection contains two flat boxes of sheet music, mostly from the turn of the twentieth century, collected by Mary Bang Connell of Nashville while she was attending Belmont College.

This collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Special Collections in the Jean and Alexander Heard Library. Biographical Note - Mary Bang Connell

Mary Bang Connell was born April 14, 1891 to Enoch Walton Connell and Elizabeth M. "Bettie" Phillips. She played piano and attended Belmont College. She was noted as a popular, beautiful "girl of West End" that featured often in the Entertainment pages of The Nashville Tennessean. In 1912, she married Claude Averell Edmonds with whom she had one daughter, Mary. She died young after a brief illness on December 27, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois.
