Biographical / Historical
The Vanderbilt Students of Non-Violence is a student-led organization that seeks to raise awareness about the prevalence and impact of sexual assault and rape culture within the Vanderbilt community. The Clothesline Project installation was a visual display of shirts with messages by survivors of sexual violence on the Vanderbilt University campus. The purpose of the project was to increase awareness of the impact of sexual violence within the Vanderbilt community, to celebrate the strength to survive, and to provide another avenue for surivors of sexual violence to courageously break the silence that often surrounds their experiences.
