Scope and Contents

This collection contains photographs and scrapbooks of Bryson College in Fayetteville, TN, a small Christian college. This collection features photographs and memorabilia relating to Bryson College. Included is the school’s yearbook, The Bridge, from 1926. There is also a set of newspaper clippings and photographs of Philadelphia, PA with an unknown collection to the school.

Historical Note

Bryson College operated from 1919 to 1929 in Fayetteville, TN. The student population remained small, peaking at 149 students in 1926 (Batesel, Paul). The Bridge, the title of Bryson College’s yearbooks, began publication in 1922. In 1929, the school merged with Erskine College, located in Due West, SC.
