Biographical Note - Edgar Hill Duncan, Jr.

Edgar Hill Duncan, Jr. was born on September 16, 1905 in Nashville, Tennessee. he earned his B.A. from Randolph Macon College, his M.A. from the University of Southern California, and his PhD from Vanderbilt University. At Vanderbilt, he was the Director of Freshman English from 1937-1955, the Director of Graduate Studies from 1960-1967, and Chairman of the English Department from 1963-1966. He died on October 15, 1980 in Nashville, TN.
