The Transfiguration, Painting depicts two New Testament scenes, on the lower level: the Miracle of the Possessed Boy and in the upper: The Transfiguration of Christ. Between the two scenes the apostles are in various states of prayer, awe, or shock. At Jesus' feet, Peter, James and John shield their eyes from the light of Jesus' transfiguration. In the sky, Jesus, Elijah, and Moses are all elevated in a cloud of glory.
