Bust of Chevalier Stanislas de Boufflers, Sculpture is a portrait of the French statesman, writer, and knight of Malta, the Chevalier Stanislas de Boufflers (1738-1815). The knight with his coat of arms looks off into the distance. The portrait is part of a pair with wife, Françoise Eleonore Dejean de Manville (1749-1827),. The two shared a semi-famous love story that spanned from 1777 until they both passed, documented through their preserved love letters.
