St. Christopher, This panel depicts St. Christopher standing carrying a staff and holding the Christ child on his shoulders. He stands ankle deep in a river. As the legend goes, he was a very tall man and he used his height to help needy travelers cross a river. This scene depicts the moment when St. Christopher helps a child who reveals himself as Christ and marks St. Christopher's conversion to Christianity. St. Christopher goes on to convert thousands to Christianity and dies as a martyr.
