The naked Christ stands in Mary's lap with his left hand resting on a prayer book while he gestures a blessing with his right hand. Four saints are present. The two to the left are St. Augustine (holding a crozier and wearing a bishop's robe and hat) and John the Baptist (wearing a monk's robe and pointing to the sacrificial lamb). To the right are St. Monica, St. Augustine's mother (wearing a nun's habit and holding a book) and St. Nicholas of Tolentino, an Augustinian saint (wearing a monk's robe and holding lilies and a star).
