Saint Ambrose Polyptych: Saint Louis and Saint Peter, Shown in this detail of the larger St. Ambrose polyptych are the two left panels depicting St. Louis and St. Peter, respectively. St. Peter holds a book and the keys to the Kingdom, and St. Louis wears a crown and holds an orb with cross and a scepter with fleur-de-lys. He is dressed in royal brocade garb. St. Peter wears a tunic and sandals. They are both shown against a gold background.
