Polyptych, This image shows a two-tiered polyptych from the Saint Eufemia monastery in Rab, Croatia.

In the lower tier, the figures stand in full-length view, and Saint Bernardino is pictured in the central panel. Saint Peter holds a book and the keys to the kingdom of Heaven. Saint Francis holds a book and a cross and wears a Franciscan habit. Saint Bernardino, wearing a monastic habit, holds a book in one hand and holds out a circular tablet with the other hand. To the right of the central panel, Saint Christopher, the patron saint of Rab, is shown making an ascent up a rocky terrain while holding the Christ Child on his shoulder and clutching a walking stick with his other hand. The Christ Child holds an orb. In the next panel, Saint Anthony Abbot is depicted. He wears a monastic habit and holds a book and a lily.

In the upper tier, the central panel pictures the Madonna and Child. Here, the Virgin holds and supports the Christ Child in her arms as he almost stands upright. He touches her face and she gazes down at him with devotion. To either side of this central scene are two panels depicting saints in half-length view. To the left, Saints Jerome and John the Baptist are shown, and to the right of the central panel, Saints Giustina and Ludovic (?) are pictured. Saint Jerome wears the vestments of a cardinal and holds a church model and an open book, the Vulgate. Saint John the Baptist wears animal skins with his robes and holds a staff surmounted by a cross and adorned with the banner which reads "ECCE AGN[US] DEI." He points to the banner, figuratively pointing to the one who is to come to save, Christ. To the right of the central panel, Saint Giustina holds a martyr's palm and a book; Saint Ludovic (or also thought to possibly be Saint Louis of Tolouse) wears a bishop's vestments including mitre and holds a crosier and a book.
