Virgin and Four Saints, This image shows a polyptych with (L-R): St. Nicholas of Bari, St. John the Baptist, the Virgin Mary, St. John the Apostle, and St. Jerome. St. Nicholas wears bishop's vestments, including mitre, holds a crosier, book and three gold balls. St. John the Baptist wears animal skins and points (referring to his foretelling of Christ's coming. The Virgin Mary is in the central panel. Next is St. John the Apostle, who holds his head in his hand. Next, is St. Jerome, in red robes and holding a book and a quill. All of the figures are shown in full length. The panels are framed by a gilded rectangular frame.
