Madonna with Child and Saints, Painting is the front of the Maesta altarpiece that depicts the Madonna and Child enthroned surrounded by saints, the altarpiece is complete with a predella, pinnacles, and framing elements. This image is a detail of Saint Agnes of Rome, a third century saint and martyr who stands at the feet of the Madonna and Child. Saint Agnes is identified by the emblem of a lamb with a flag.
