Scope and Contents
Colombian slave petition of Juan de la Cruz Rincon of Villa del Rosario in the city of Pamplona in 1815 requests his freedom and that of his wife and children from slaveowner C. Pedro Lobos (?) by reason of his service to the king. Includes signatures of Carlos Romero, Navarro and others. Civil document signed with the seal of Pamplona dating 1812-1815. The final certification was dated 1819 indicating the lengthy process for freedom. 5 pages (9 pages mss)
