This collection, spanning over 500 years, contains autographs collected by James Stahlman from a wide range of figures, including Presidents, Generals, Kings & Queens, Actors, Writers, Educators, and many more. Nearly 50 different countries are represented in this collection: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Haiti, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Myanmar, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Uruguay, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The physical materials from this collection may be viewed only in the reading room of Vanderbilt’s Special Collections and University Archives.
