Scope and Contents
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0611; Public Notes: The frame wrongly attributes this painting to Van Dyck. This painting originally belonged to the Cook Collection, founded by Sir Francis Cook (1817-1901). The collection was divided between Cook's two sons Sir Frederick Cook and Mr. Wyndham Cook. Frederick inherited the pictures, drawings, antique sculptures, etc., while Wyndham inherited the bronzes, silver, ivories, china, etc. The collection has since been sold to various other collections. This painting is now in the Courtauld.
