Carl Booth to Betty Booth, 1968 October 4-28
Notes on letters
Carl again refers to trying to visit Steve, as well as someone named Neal Thompson (letter dated 1968-10-4). He says he visited "Phu Tai Valley [sic]" and "Long My Valley [sic]" for work (letter dated 1968-10-4). He says that he avoids traveling at night because of recent ambushes (letter dated 1968-10-4). Carl refers to contact with Buck Weaver, Potter, and Bill Baird (letter dated 1968-10-5). He says that Jim White of Tampa is up for a promotion to E8 (letter dated 1968-5-10). Carl says that he spoke with Steve (letter dated 1968-10-23). In the same letter he says, "Our tactical situation worsened a day or two ago, then got better, and has since become nothing." He continues, "Charlie sure has been in his hole for a long time now." He also says he will be working with someone named Bob Elliot in Atlanta. Carl refers to two crimes involving Van de Venter and Doe Walters respectively (1968-10-28).
