Scope and Contents

The George Boswell Papers, 1800’s – 1990’s, consists of transcriptions of 1,200 folk songs and ballads collected throughout Middle Tennessee between 1948 and 1952, personal papers, commercial sheet music, choral arrangements, and student research papers of Vanderbilt graduate, author, professor, and folklorist George Worley Boswell, 1919-1995. Much of this collection remains unprocessed.
