The Madonna of the Provost of Maelbeke, A depiction of Madonna and Child with the patron, Nicholas van Maelbeke, provost of Saint Martin's Cathedral in Ypres, Belgium. This central panel is paired with two outer wings (not photographed) which seems to be unfinished. The original painting was the artist's last work before he died. The original was removed from the cathedral and was lost during the French occupation of the Netherlands. Non-extant., ca. 1441
