Head of John the Baptist, Painting depicts the New Testament scene in which King Herod grants his step daughter Salome any gift she desires. At the request of her mother, King Herod's wife, Salome requests the head of John the Baptist. The painting depicts the moment when Salome is presented with the head on a platter from an unknown man.
