Scope and Contents Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.VENI.0125; Public Notes: Similar to other Madonna and Child paintings by Andrea da Murano, including that at Princeton, this work is attributed, by a handwritten inscription on the back of the photograph, to Andrea da Murano, citing Berenson, and the photo was in an original folder noting "Andrea da Murano". From reading Berenson's "Italian Pictures of the Renaissance" (1932), it seems this work may be the one Berenson mentions from the sacristy of the...

Scope and Contents

Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.VENI.0130; Public Notes: Thought to be part of a triptych, with the crucifixion scene in the center panel (Zeri). Also, previously attributed (by Tommaso di ser Giovanni di Mone Guidi) to Masaccio, and also to Andrea del Castagno (multiple sources). There is a note handwritten on the back of the photo, noting Andrea da Murano, signed "R.L.".
