Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.MODE.0100; Public Notes: The portrait was originally from "The Communion of Saint Catherine of Siena with Alessandro Faruffino and Catherine Macchiavelli". The painting was damaged in fire in 1805. Only five fragments survived. Of those pieces, the repositories of only two are known. The present one and a fragment of Faruffino's hands which can be found in a collection in Milan. The portrait was part of the Costabili collection until 1901.
