Karel Van Mallery, Portrait of Karel Van Mallery, the Belgian draftsman, engraver, and print dealer. He stands with his left hand across his chest, cutting his eyes downward and into the distance. There is a broken column in the background above his left shoulder that is probably symbolic of transience.
