St. Nicholas wears bishop's vestments, including mitre, holds a crosier, book and three gold balls. St. John the Baptist wears animal skins and points (referring to his foretelling of Christ's coming. The Virgin Mary is in the central panel. Next is St. John the Apostle, who holds his head in his hand. Next, is St. Jerome, in red robes and holding a book and a quill. All of the figures are shown in full length.
