Madonna and Child, This image shows a scene of the Virgin and Child enthroned. The Virgin is crowned queen of Heaven, and the Christ Child stands on her lap, while she supports Him. He gives the sign of blessing with His right hand, and holds a bird with his left hand. The base of the throne is a cusped plinth. The Virgin's robe is richly decorated with roundels which are inscribed with what appears to be a prayer (in Latin) but could not be identified from this view., 1440-1450
