Portrait of Abbot Christiaan de Hondt, Portrait of the Abbot Christiaan de Hondt, the Cisterian abbot of Ter Duinen in Bruges. The abbot is depicted kneeling in prayer at a prie-dieu. In front of him sits an open book, presumably a book of hours. In the foreground lies a small dog (symbolic of faithfulness) and a mitre. This scene takes place in an interior space with a large fireplace and a window. In the background, a small devotional painting hangs on the wall., c.1499

The Money Lender and His Wife, Portrait of the money lender and his wife depicted counting money. This portrait differs from the original in that the money lender does not wear a large fur hat but a small black cap instead. Also, in this painting, a third figure is present in the background. He walks toward the seated figures carrying a letter of some sort.
