US troops recovered this work in 1945 and it was returned to the Polish royal family in 1950, before being acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, in 1959.

Apotheosis of Aeneas, This chaotic image is filled with angels, cherubim, and mythological figures like Aeneas and Hermes.
Atalanta and Meleager, Painting depicts the Greek mythological story of Atalanta and the Wild Boar. Atalanta was raised as a great virgin huntress and as such joined competitions that were usually exclusively male. During the Calydonian Boar Hunt, she was the first person to draw blood and when Meleager dealt the deathblow to the animal, he presented the head to Atalanta. In this depiction Atalanta is found in the center of a cluster of men with one kneeling before her with the head of the boar seen by onlookers. The scene takes place in an outdoor landscape with various trees and plant life., 1560

Diana and Actaeon, Painting depicts the scene from Roman and Greek mythology where Diane is seen bathing with a group of nymphs by Actaeon. In the story, when Actaeon stumbles across the bathing women the nymphs attempt to conceal the chaste Diane and splash Actaeon. The water turned Actaeon into a deer and when he fled his hunting hounds hunt and kill him. The nymphs and Diane are depicted naked in a river, two hounds are seen at the river’s edge and Actaeon is seen perching on a small wall where he can fully witness the scene. A set of ruins appears behind the bathing women in this outdoor landscape scene., 1560

Finding aids describe the context, arrangement, and structure of archival materials, allowing users to identify and request materials relevant to their research.
Requesting Materials
Each finding aid contains a link to request materials from the collections. Collections can also be requested by emailing the repository directly through the library website. Each repository has its own location, hours, and contact information. Please consult the repository with questions about using the materials. Collections are non-circulating and must be used in the repository’s reading room. In many cases, the collections are stored off-site and require advance notice for retrieval.
