Sleeping Nymph and Satyr, Image depicts a partial of a sleeping Nymph and Satyr, here only the sleeping Nymph is present. Resting on an elaborate settee, the nymph rests nude with her left arm over her head and the rest of her body at rest. The lurking satyr is missing.
Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.SCUL.0421.1; Public Notes: Image is from Wilhelm Bode, The Italian Bronze Statuettes of the Renaissance, M A S De Reinis, 1980. The author identified this piece with Giambologna and the Albertinum museum in Dresden yet no other such evidence exists. The image is very similar to the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen's Giambologna sculpture by the same name.
