Portrait of a Young Man, The portrait shows a half-length sitter from the waist up. He stands tall with his chest pointed slightly to the viewer's left, but his face turned forward. He wears a black coat with a white shirt frilled at his neck and showing at his wrists. His coat and his hat seem to have additional pleats and gold bits, perhaps to subtly show his wealth. His left hand sits on his hip prominently displaying the ring on his pinky finger, this may be a signet ring or seal, showing his status or his membership within a high society. The other hand, his right, holds a finger in the middle of the book as if keeping his place. He is shown in an interior space, with a table under the book on his right, and a chair arm by his left side. They show elaborate carvings on the wood, but otherwise, the scene focuses solely on the sitter. This record and SC.MSS.088.FLOR.10708 are from different sources, but are identical images.
