Vanderbilt photo identifier: SC.MSS.088.FLEM.0193; Public Notes: Previously, it was thought to illustrate a scene from the legend of Saint Godeberta who was betrothed to God by Saint Eligius in the presence of King Clotaire II. The halo in this image has since been removed, as it was a posthumous addition. The piece was once part of the Baron Albert von Oppenheim Collection in Cologne, Germany, until it was sold in 1918 as a result of his death in 1912.
